Fire Standard Implementation Sessions

Virtual sessions are being held to support fire and rescue services with the implementation of published Fire Standards.

Members of the NFCC’s Implementation Support Team will host the events to support services to complete the Implementation Tools associated with each standard. A subject matter expert will also join some sessions.

Each session is themed to focus on one Fire Standard and will be repeated three times in the series. The workshops will begin with the Prevention Fire Standard on 9 August and will run until April next year (2023).

Demand for these sessions has been high, and places are now limited. Any remaining sessions can be booked onto by using the Eventbrite booking link.

Chair of the Fire Standards Board, Suzanne McCarthy said: “Working collaboratively with services to support the implementation of standards and understanding the impact they are having is a key focus for the Board, and we are grateful to the Implementation Team for hosting these sessions.

There’s no expectation to have completed an Implementation Tool, or to have familiarity with the specific content of each standard before each session.

More information about the published Fire Standards can be found in the Approved Standards section.

The Fire Standards Board recognises that it takes a service, on average, between 1-2 years to implement and achieve a Fire Standard.
