Legislation applicable for all fire standards

We know that fire and rescue services must comply with a considerable amount of legislation to undertake their duties, and that some legislation applies to all fire and rescue activities.

We’ve listed below the legislation that is relevant to all Fire Standards:

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations

Health and Safety at Work Act

Fire and Rescue Services Act

Equality Act

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order

Fire and Rescue National Framework for England

Civil Contingencies Act

Data Protection Act

Human Rights Act

Individual Fire Standards will reflect only the most appropriate legislation to that Standard, but the above legislation should be recognised and understood as part of the legal duty of a fire and rescue service.
