Welcome to the consultation for the Operational Competence and Operational Preparedness Fire Standards which have recently been reviewed as part of the Fire Standards Board review programme.
The Operational Competence and Operational Preparedness Fire Standards were amongst the first Fire Standards to be published back in February 2021. Since their publication, the Fire Standards Board have published a total of nineteen Fire Standards.
The Board have committed to the regular review of published Fire Standards to ensure that they remain appropriate for the benefit of the sector.
This consultation seeks to gather views about the proposed amendments to each Fire Standard as well as the impact on those organisations who will be expected to align to them. Some questions may only be relevant if you work for a fire and rescue service within England.
Many thanks for taking the time to respond, your feedback is appreciated.

In the draft for consultation, legislation pertinent to this topic has been included, the consultation enables suggestions for any further consultation to be made.
Any illustrations are not currently in high-definition, to allow for email limitations; this will be addressed at point of publication.
