Desired Outcome
You Said | We Did |
---|---|
The contribution Community Risk Management Planning has on the economic wellbeing of communities was unclear. | The economic wellbeing of communities was an important point and one which services should be considerate of when developing a CRMP. It was agreed that this should remain in the standard, however a definition has been produced to support understanding. You can find this definition on the CRMP Fire Standard webpage. |
Inclusion of Fire Control contribution to the CRMP. | We agreed that Fire Control played an important role in contributing to the CRMP and this was clarified in the Desired Outcome when referencing risks that needed to be considered and mitigated. |
Given that safety of the community and employees cannot be guaranteed, it was suggested to revise the phrase 'keeps its community and employees safe from harm' to reflect a more achievable commitment. | We acknowledge the point, however the aim of the CRMP should be to protect people from harm and therefore should be reflected in the Desired Outcome. |
Environment and sustainability practices should be a consideration as well as the consideration of finances and achieving value for money. | We included an increased focus on the services environmental impact, promoting sustainable practices whilst considering the financial impact. |
The Desired Outcome statement was more activity rather than outcome based. | We adapted some of the language in this section to provide services with clearer focus on the outcomes of having a good CRMP with a robust process in place. |
To Achieve The Fire Standard
You Said | We Did |
---|---|
Services must be aware of and consider global hazards and trends that may be applicable when developing its CRMP. | We included global hazards as a consideration alongside local, regional and national. |
Environment and sustainability activities. | We included additional detail around the services need to consider what impact it may have on the environment when developing a CRMP. |
Alignment of finances against risks. | This was an important detail and a new point was added to clarify that finances should be strategically managed to ensure they are aligned to the risks, vision and resourcing requirements set out in the CRMP. |
The person who has overall accountability for the CRMP may not be the same person responsible for the components within it. | We acknowledge these may be different people and it is for the service to decide how this is managed, providing these roles are clearly defined and articulated. |
Expected Benefits of Achieving the Fire Standard
You Said | We Did |
---|---|
The benefits were presented more as statements rather than benefits. | The language was made clearer across a number of benefits. |
Improved decision making and financial planning benefits the public. | A new benefit was added to incorporate this. |
Legal Requirements or Mandatory Duties
You Said | We Did |
---|---|
Since the initial publication of the CRMP Fire Standard, it was noted that some legislation was applicable to all Fire Standards. This legislation is listed on a separate webpage and is linked to each Fire Standard. Much of the legislation listed in the CRMP Fire Standard is replicated on this page. | All legislation listed on the overarching legislation webpage was removed from this section. |
With the introduction of new requirements around financial planning, appropriate legislation/regulations should be listed. | We included Accounts and Auditing Regulations and Internal Financial Regulations as set out be each services Authority. |
Linked Qualifications, Accreditations or Fire Standards
You Said | We Did |
---|---|
Since the initial publication of the CRMP Fire Standard, there have been other Fire Standards that closely align with it. |
Although all Fire Standards are not to be viewed in silo, we agree there are some standards that link more closely than others. We have included the following Fire Standards: • Emergency Preparedness and Resilience Fire Standard • Fire Control Fire Standard • Operational Competence Fire Standard • Operational Preparedness Fire Standard • Operational Learning Fire Standard |
