Safeguarding Fire Standard

The NFCC’s Safeguarding Workstream has delivered a number of guidance documents and a self-assessment tool to enable services to assure and improve their capability in this area. We are grateful for all the feedback we received through the consultation, all of which has been considered. We have provided an explanation and rationale for the changes made in the table below.

Prevention Fire Standard

The NFCC Prevention Programme is in the process of developing guidance to support services and more will follow over the coming months. Prevention Fire Standard

The CONSultation &#8211; now closed The Fire Standards Board commissioned the development of the Prevention Fire Standard through the National Fire Chiefs Council Prevention Committee. From this a working group was formed with representation from services across the country to support development work. Safeguarding Fire Standard 

Consultation &#8211; Now closed A draft Safeguarding Fire Standard is now open for consultation. This has been developed with expert input from the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) Safeguarding Committee and is underpinned by the&nbsp;NFCC Safeguarding Guidance for Children, Young People and Adults. Fire Standards Board – What’s coming up in 2022

A further seven Fire Standards are currently in development by the Fire Standards Board. These include Safeguarding; Fire Investigation; Emergency Preparedness and Resilience; and Data, as well as three Leadership Fire Standards.
