The NFCC have been working with colleagues in the practitioner’s group, Driver Training Advisory Group (DTAG) to develop a course outline for Instructors, with supporting guidance to help services to achieve the Emergency Driving Response Fire Standard, which was published in February 2021.
The publication of the first four Fire Standards is a monumental achievement for the sector. These standards and those that follow will form the basis of future inspection judgements by the HMICFRS.
The first four Fire Standards for fire and rescue services in England are to be published on www.firestandards.org on 16 February 2021. This is a monumental announcement, building upon and driving professionalism within our sector.
The Fire Standards Board’s consultation on its first proposed Fire Standard focused on the important area of emergency response driving.
The first Fire Standard is now out for consultation. In an important step forward for blue light driving, the emergency response driver standard provides fire and rescue services with the framework to ensure they are fully compliant with legislation.
